I setup an hours of operation policy to set the agent to work Monday through Thursday from 1 am to 5 am with a 2 hour communication interval.
My problem is that each time the PC reboots it re-registers itself again in the console. Any help would be appreciated. We are at Version: 6. See related articles to this posting. Joe, when the free is re-established, are all the keys in the registry for ZPM?
Can you compare one before and after re-registrations to see what it's updating? I exported the registry keys from a frozen pc and a thawed pc and compared them. Any suggestions what to check next? The agent ID is different. On a frozen PC, it changes after every rebooot which makes sense because according to the log it is re-registering.
On the thawed PC it always remains the same. I went back through the registry and found on other key where the enteries are different. Deep Freeze is confusing if your not familiar with to so I hope this will help clarify what I'm doing. Not exactly. Deep Freeze is an OS state management tool. Basically what it does when the PC is frozen is it writes all changes to memory instead of writing them to the hard drive.
So after a reboot when the memory is cleared, the PC is back to it's original state. I install Patch Management when the PC is thawed which allows me to make changes.
Then I check the console to make sure the PC appears and then I reboot it a couple times to make sure everything is OK and that the PC is not duplicating itself in the console.
I also check the logs to make sure everything looks correct. Then I reboot the PC in Frozen mode and this is when the agent starts re-registering itself on every reboot. Joe, so, if you un freeze it, then re-freeze it after it's re-registered, does it continue to register every time? As soon as it is frozen, it starts to re-register again. Joe, so when do those registry keys you mentioned get changed back?
Does that make sense? It makes complete sense and it's something I can't figure out. As soon as I reboot an unfrozen machine into frozen mode, the registry settings get changed. It's not Deep Freeze that is making the change. I assume it is happening when the agent re-registers. Joe, then if you re-freeze it at that point? NATICK, MA — Natick public works crews were responding to two major water main breaks Wednesday morning following a wave of frigid temperatures that lasted into the early morning hours.
According to the Natick Public Works Department, a inch main broke along Byron Road off Route 9, shutting off water to about 14 homes. A second 6-inch main broke along Fairview Avenue affecting 17 homes, the department reported. In general, frigid temperatures can cause pipes to become more brittle, making it easier for them to rupture.
A water main rupture in Boston on Tuesday shut down a downtown street for more than 12 hours.
